- Bang test: Primed Casing - No powder, no projectile
- Whack test: Small sample of compound tested inside aluminum foil
- Diaper Method: Folding primer compounds together using a sheet of paper
- 'Hippo': sodium hypophosphite
- 'Fines': Dust sized particles gathered from smokeless powder or nitrocellulose sources such as ping pong balls
- Hygroscopic: Absorbs moisture, right out of the air
- LN: lead nitrate LH: lead hypophosphite
- NC: nitrocellulose NG: nitroglycerin
- SINOXID: general name for all modern non-corrosive primer compounds Germany 1930's
